DAMA presents the Laboratorio Segunda Versión (Second Version Laboratory), the first national audiovisual creation laboratory aimed at creators over the age of 50.
With funding from the Instituto de la Cinematografía y de las Artes Audiovisuales (ICAA), the Plan de Recuperación, Transformación y Resiliencia (Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan) and the Next Generation European funds, the management entity is organising the first edition of a programme that aims to generate new opportunities for authors and support professionals in the audiovisual sector.
DAMA is committed to facilitating the work of authors regardless of their demographic conditions, in a context in which there is a proliferation of support programmes for the very young and in which the industry is often committed to new talent.
The call will be open to any subject and six participants will be selected on the basis of criteria of parity, territoriality and training.
The deadline for receipt of projects will be from 2nd to 30th of September 2022 through the DAMA website, where the legal terms and conditions of the Laboratorio Segunda Versión can also be consulted.
Those selected will attend a complete training and tutoring programme, in which they will develop an audiovisual fiction script for a feature film, series or miniseries throughout all its phases: from an initial synopsis to a complete first version.
The tutors of the Laboratorio Segunda Versión will be the screenwriter and film professor Lola Mayo, who will be the coordinator of the tutoring phase, and directors, directors and screenwriters such as Mar Coll, Pilar Palomero, Oliver Laxe, Yolanda García Serrano and Joaquín Oristrell.
The programme will culminate with specific training in promotion and sales techniques, and with the development of a strategy aimed at ensuring that the script can be presented professionally to industry representatives.
The laboratory has received financial support worth €6,000.
