DAMA announces the Premio DAMA de Guion Lola Salvador, endowed with 30,000€
The name of the award pays tribute to one of the most outstanding scriptwriters in Spanish television and cinema and founder of DAMA.
DAMA, the audiovisual copyright management organisation, today announced the first edition of the Premio DAMA de Guion Lola Salvador, with a prize of €30,000 for the winning work and a runner-up prize of €10,000 for the finalist script.
The name of the award has been chosen in honour of one of the most important screenwriters in the history of Spanish cinema and television.
“One of DAMA’s objectives is to support audiovisual creators and this award is a further step in this direction,” said Borja Cobeaga, president of DAMA. “As for the choice of the name, there were no doubts. Lola Salvador is one of the founders of DAMA and, in fact, she was the one that came up with the name of the organisation. She is also a fundamental scriptwriter in the history of Spanish cinema and a pioneering woman. In these times in which women are encouraged to write more and more allowing female screenwriters have a greater presence in series and films, the figure of Lola is an example and an inspiration”.
The first edition of the Premio DAMA de Guion Lola Salvador will be open to both professional and novice screenwriters of any nationality. The scripts must be original, unpublished and for fiction feature films, and may be written in any of the official languages of Spain. At the time of submission, the work must be finished and ready to be made into a film.
In order to ensure equal conditions for all participants, applications must be submitted anonymously, and each participant may submit a maximum of one script per call for entries. The registration period will be open from 30 March to 30 April 2022 and the winning project, chosen by a jury made up of professionals of recognised prestige in the audiovisual sector, will be announced at a public event to be held in September.
